When I first started quilting, I would layout my quilt blocks on my
hobby table top for my design board. As my quilts grew in size, I used
some boards with a layer of quilt batting.
This way I could stand them up and have a better angle to look at
placement of blocks.
This worked well until my most
recent quilt. It's a queen size and required quite a bit more space. This time I used tripods and a rod. I
placed large pieces of quilt batting over the rod, attached it with
large clips and voila - a large design board. Works well - don't you
think.
