This quilt which I'm calling Modern Mix consists of fabric stash leftover from when I made 2 very large quilts - WestEnd Modern Quilt guild BOM by Jitka Designs and the Bauhaus quilt by Zen Chic

The blocks themselves are a mix of modern and traditional in solids and prints.  Lots of fun to make and great for using up fabric stash!

Longarm quilting was done by Michelle Gagne in the Sticky Bun pantograph.

West End Modern Quilt Guild QAL

The pandemic provided the opportunity for me to join many workshops and guilds that I would otherwise not have been able to attend.  One such guild was the West End Modern Quilt Guild in Mississauga, Ontario.  One of their members, Jitka Clement, designed a quilt and it was the guild's BOM for the year.

 The Kona colors were

The blocks were fun to make.

As I wanted a larger size, I added a few blocks of my own.

Michelle Gagne did the longarm quilting.  She always does a great job.  I bound it with a Kona fabric in the color Prussian.

Iris Quilt with Confetti Fabric

This is the Iris Pattern for the Baby quilt size.  I added borders to make it a bit bigger.  49 x 49

The scrappy border used many of the extra pieces and took so time, but I like the look.  Mitered corners take time but I like the look.

Propeller Quilt

Back in 2020 I made a quilt top - Rebel quilt using lots of Kona colors.   I tried to convince myself that I like it,  but it just didn't work for me.

So in 2024, I decide to take it apart and use some of the pieces to create something else - the Propeller Quilt.  It was fun to make and I preferred the look of it.

I used my domestic sewing machine to quilt the Orange Peel design.
